Anyone buying winter wheels and tires?
Where and what are you getting? Tirerack recommends a 235/55R17.
They have a tire/wheel package at $1058, but want $188 for new TPMS sensors.

I will be sticking with factory tires for now. We have snow here but as long as you don't drive like an idiot you should be just fine.

Drove ours in snow last year, it drove OK in snow. Used to have G37 Convertible, that car needed winter tires but Cadenza does OK.

Bought new 17" wheels (-2 size) and General Altimax Arctic Winter tires from TireRack.
But now the car handles like a boat at highway speeds. Will be checking alignment. Anyone have any ideas why there would be such a difference in handling.

You get the bigger tires to compensate for -2? Are they the same width as the oem?

OEM was 245/45-18 - the Winter treads are 235/55-17. They are @ 1/2 inch narrower, I think.

What I've heard -

Sidewall thickness plays a lot in handling - bigger sidewalls absorb more harshness, giving a softer feeling ride and less responsive to steering input (due to flex of sidewall). Probably not all that noticeable for normal driving, but maybe more pronounced at highway speed or on the track.
