Hi, I just had a Viper 4806v installed on my 2014 Cadenza. Bought and installed at Best Buy. My issue is with the starter is after the car is remote started when I step on the brake to shift to drive the engine stops and I have to re-start it from the dash push to start. Is this normal or is something miss-configured/not installed correctly? The only reference to key take over in the Viper manual is for a keyed dash, not push to start.

Thanks

Mark

Dahill-It cost me $350 but was installed by my brother at the car stereo shop that he worked at, I think it would normally be around $500. It requires the drone mobile module and an add on for the push to start ignition, plus a subscription (I paid $120 for 3 years.) As it is currently 10F outside, it is worth every penny! I can start my car from anywhere that I and it are in cell phone coverage, and have done it from multiple states away before.

Thank you for getting back to me. I really appreciate the information. This is one of items I cannot believe that they don't have as an option. The hyaundi has blue link with all the remote start features

The Equus also has rear entertainment system, air ride, power rear side window shades, and stay in your lane assist not just a beep. For the same price as the K900. I don't care for the exterior design of the Equus, but unless KIA ups it's features I'll buy a Hyundai next time.
The genesis is about the same price as our Cadenza's and appears to be a good step up, with some worth while added features
Come on KIA get with it. This is my 6th KIA

I do enjoy the general aesthetic of the kia line, but the Genesis is probably going to be my next as well. Even though I am loving the look of the upcoming Cadenza. I will love it more with the added tech since that is what a lot of the value of Kia offers comes from.

My GF has auto start on her Optima that was part of the tech package.
After she starts the car, she has to push the brake and then press the Start button within 30 seconds of opening the door or the car will turn off.
So, try that. Push the brake then press the start button and see if that let's it know you are ready to go. If the car turns off, then that didn't work.

Bingo, I was blown away after getting the K900 to see all the features on the Equus! What surprises me is my assistant has a 2007 7 series BMW and the rear passenger doors that have the sunshades are automatic, unlike the 2015 K900. (An 8 year newer car)

What's weird though is the 2016 Equus still uses HID instead of LED like the K900.

Generally, HID projectors are still outperforming LED projector systems. But the OEM LED projectors are catching up fast! I saw a new car (can't remember which now), where LED projectors are standard, and HID is optional.
Interesting, I would have to say the LED headlights on my K900 are better than any HID setup I have ever personally owned or seen for that matter. I constantly have people flash me cause they think my brights are on. Then when I flash them back, I bet they feel pretty silly. lol

I haven't seen the output on the K900, but people flashing high beams is more a function of either glare or headlights aimed too high. Maybe worth a check

I'm sure you've noticed the newer Corolla's and their LED lights. They are notoriois for being aimed high from the factory. Their output is not too good either, slightly better than halogen.

Yeah I hear ya, but it's not that. They are just really really bright and the light spread is awesome. I actually have never seen or heard of a Corolla with LED lights, I'm surprised to hear those come with them.

Two more years I'll buy a new car. Kind of hope KIA gets it's stuff together by then.
You & I both my friend.

Hello Mark,

Did you find a solution to your Viper 4806v? I am ready to get a remote Starter along with an application that I can use from my phone. Please let me know if you stuck with the Viper and if they figured out the issue.

Thank you
