Used 2014 Cadenza with added chrome

Hi all, just joined the site after purchasing a used 14 w/ Luxury, Tech and White packages. Very nice ride.

The first owner added body side molding and chrome fender flare trim. When I first saw it in pix, I had the expected eew/Buick/garish reaction (and planned to remove it all ASAP) but after seeing it in person, I'm not sure what I'll do. It actually looks very nice even for this anti-chromite. There is already a bunch of chrome on the car anyway and the side character profile is so conservative in stock form, that this adds something interesting. Still not sure what I'll do but will probably wait a few months and see how I feel about.

The forum has been useful already as I had to look up a couple of things. Glad to be onboard!

Cheers, Mike

welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will enjoy your new ride
Welcome aboard. Beautiful looking ride.

Nice to have you with us here. Let us know if you need help finding anything.

I'll be the first to comment, interesting look. I don't like the wheel opening moldings as much. The added ones to the door, they look like they were also painted to match, nice touch!
Thanks David.

Yea, MadMax, the fender flare trim is definitely the part I'm most concerned about as well. I haven't driven the car much yet. I think I need to walk up to it a few times in normal daily activities (rather than staring at it) to determine whether or not I can live with it. It does look better in person than in pix for some reason. Perhaps the large size of the car in person just makes that chrome slightly less noticeable than it seems in a smaller pic. Anyway, I appreciate the comments. It's always great to get others' perspectives. Cheers.

Food for thought,

If you got tired of the chrome and wanted a sportier look you could still keep the flares on there and just wrap them black. That might look pretty cool!

Otherwise looks great Mike!
Welcome to the forum! I’m quite new here myself but love to shout out to the people who are sharing their new rides here. And on a side note, whatever you decide to do with your car in the future, I hope that you'll be able to find the information that you're looking for in due time. Cheers!
Welcome. We have the same car except mine isn't an SXL. In one way I'm disappointed in that, in another, I'm glad. I don't like it because I don't have a cooled passenger seat or the hydrophobic glass (nothing RainX can't fix). I like that I have my 18" rims though, I'm so glad I have those over the chrome 19's, I can't stand those.

Also, I have to agree with others about the arch flair, not my thing, but to each his own. If you like it, keep it. I was thinking about buying mine after lease as well as getting bronze rims, unsure yet. Would also love painted calipers but I want purple instead of red, just think it would look nicer with our metallic bronze cars. They are just so expensive (CarID, let me know when you have a sale on them!!!!) so I haven't gotten them yet.

Hope you enjoy the car! If you have any questions let us know.

Honestly I would remove it. Cadenza owners only would probably notice the added Chrome, but to me it looks like someone is 'trying too hard.' If that makes sense. The Cadenza is packaged beautifully on its own, anything added spoils the prestige and hard work Kia spent putting this ensemble together. Just my opinion. ☺
Just on one side try putting black electrical tape on the chrome. Stand back and look at both side,
see which one you like. Tape will come right off
Hi Irishnutter, welcome!!! So what were you riding in before the Cadenza?
