Hi, I copied around 5K mp3 files on a USB flash drive. The Cadenza loaded them fine and sees all of them. But I can't find anywhere to search by artist, album, etc. It processes the tags fine as they all appear when a file is playing. I started looking at general UVO docs online and found instructions for searching. But I don't have these options and when I actually pulled out the UVO book that came with the car, it didn't mention anyway to search either. I'm hoping this is cockpit error or I need a system update. All of my other cars properly index the mp3 files. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

My experience is there is no way to index, search, sort etc. All you get is an alphabetical list. I found it better to copy the music I listen to most onto the head unit, keeping the number of files low so that searching for a song is not tedious. And when I say search, I mean clicking through the page list of songs manually.

Other option is to hook up an Iphone/IPod, which is able to index, search, sort, etc.

Yeah, I was hoping for software update for the 2016 cadenza that would serve as an update for my 2015 that would solve this issue for my massive USB collection, but I can't find anything re: new version in my web searches.

No way to index!
What I do is group selections in individual folders ("Best of xxx") and stay within a selected folder, or shuffle selections from within a folder or from within all folders.

Lack of indexing is not the most annoying aspect of this system. Shuffle algorithm does not remember the selections played during last session. So each time USB is activated you get to hear selections from the start of the list over and over again. Rarely get to hear end-of-list selections.

Basically a dumb system! To achieve quality USB performance plug any $10 mp3 player into the AUX outlet of this $3,000 system.

Well, a relatively painless fix. I used the auto-organize function in Media Monkey to just copy all of the mp3 files into a \genre\artist\album directory structure. Because I wanted to limit scrolling in any one folder to around 50 max, I did have to go into some of the genre folders and manually create an additional directory structure of "Artist A-D", "Artist E-H", etc. to avoid have to scroll thru hundreds of artists. Of course albums with multiple artists are spread out all over the place, and for the songs I just used "title" for the file name as opposed to "track no - title" so the order of songs on the album are different which obviously affects some albums. I could have gone back and started over to fix these things but I didn't have the mental strength and it wasn't that important to me. But now it's pretty easy to reach everything using the Cadenza menus, e.g., "Rock", "I-L", "Led Zeppelin", "In Through The Out Door".
