... and I picked up my new Cadenza in Satin Metal with the Luxury and Tech packages. I traded in a 2010 Genesis (without Tech). The car is terrific and I'm lovin all the new electronic toys.

Awesome, MichaelOne! Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

Yes that darn commercial is provocative...

I'm sure that we'll all be interested in an ongoing comparo between the Gennie and the new Cadenza. Please let us know how you feel about the new car and how it compares to the "old" one.

Welcome from Houston Texas, share some pics of your new ride!
Welcome to the forums.

It makes the Genesis look like a camry in my opinion.

Well I would say I was expecting to feel a little cramped, since the Cadenza is slightly smaller than the Genesis. That just wasn't the case. And the trunk is huge. It seems quieter/smoother as well, but that could be because of the new tires.

So far this is every bit the car the Genesis was and more.
Which Genesis did you own? The 2.0T or V6?
I bet your missing the sportiness of your Genesis!
I had the V6. It was a little bit quicker off the line than the Cadenza, but I don't really miss that. The Kia is plenty quick enough. Truth be told, the Cadenza seems to handle better.

Michael,

I'm guessing that you had the full-size Genesis?
the genesis sedan didnt offer a 2.0T, just 3.8, 4.6 and 5.0

or was this a coupe you are comparing it too? that would just be weird

Yes, it was the full size. Sorry for not being clear.
I was interested in the Genesis R-Spec for some time. Nice car, nice power, but gas mileage, price, and somewhat "milktoast" styling made me think twice.

It's nice that you are appreciating the Cadenza in comparison, though.

Keep us posted.

I didn't like the Genesis because it still felt cheap in comparison to what else was out there. Nice motor, decent ride, cheap interior.

I was also looking at the Genesis R-Spec, amazing sedan IMO but just like you the gas mileage was a turn off. Reviewers love it enough....

as much as I like the Genesis sedan i much rather get a used Lexus in like-new condition.
It looks like we agree that the Cadenza is a pretty good alternative...
