SXL Chrome wheels Peeling

Was cleaning my wheels today and noticed a bunch of flaking here and there on all 4 wheels! Any body else have this happen with the 19's (chrome)? Is this covered under the warranty? I've only had this car 6 months.

Ouch! I just cleaned the stupid wheels on Thursday and didn't notice any issues with mine after 8 months.
And I call them stupid because they are so hard to clean, I can't find a product to keep them shiny so I clean them by hand and all those little indentations take forever to get into and clean.
I've heard of this happening on the Optima SXL wheels as well.

Dealer will cover it under warranty for you.
Sounds like I'll be getting some shiny new wheels just in time for Spring! My wife is slightly annoyed that the road rash she put on two of them won't be around for me to endlessly complain about any longer....;)
LOL - had the same feelings when the non-chrome 19s got recalled. Wife got a second chance for sure. She learned her lesson, no curb rash on the new set yet (knock on wood).

My rims were pealing too. Went to dealer. Covered until 60K he told me.
Hi all new forum member here. I just bought a SXL and while cleaning the wheels I noticed the chrome was peeling on my wheels also, just wanted to know from the people that had this issue did the dealer replace your wheels.
Thanks
I bought my SXL 1 year and half ago, just seen my rims peeling too need to see if they will be covered under coverage of car.

You should be covered, let us know how it goes with your dealership
Got good news today KIA will be buying me some new wheels!
Chrome is peeling on ALL Kias equiped with chrome wheels.
Hmm, my wheels are peeling like crazy as well. I may talk to the dealer about this and see if they will cover it. Unfortunately the first owner curbed them like crazy so they might try to pass it off as that.
Just had all mine replaced under warranty. Was very impressed with my local dealer. Took it in and told them about the wheels and they replaced all four, no questions asked. 37000 miles, I'm not even the original owner and didn't purchase the car at their dealership. Very pleased with the treatment I received from dealer and KIA. Keep up this kind of customer service and you'll keep a customer with me. I have never had any luck with something like this with other makes I've owned.
Not just the Cadenza, my K900 chrome wheels are peeling also

Mine are peeling as well. After reading your success story, I took mine back to the dealer I purchased it from. Service department took pictures and said once he gets it approved on Monday (took it by on Saturday) the rims should be in on Wednesday or Thursday. So far, no phone call saying "it's not covered".
Fingers Crossed!!
Just received a call from the dealership. They are going to replace my rims!!!:D
I had the same problem with my used 2014 Cadenza but the "District Manager" refused to cover it because the vehicle was past the 3/yr. 36/Month paint warranty. He did offer to cover 2 of the 4 wheels if I bought 2 at $1150. No thanks. To me this seems like a known issue that should be covered under the basic warranty of 5/yr 60/miles. Any thoughts?
Mine was covered at 58,000 miles on my '14 Cadenza, along with a dash piece that had started to form bubbles. You can always see if the Kia preferred customer line (for Cadenza's and K900's) can make any difference.
