My 2014 Cadenza sun roof weather stripping is coming off, flapping in the wind on the front part of the sun roof and also in the back. I took it to the dealership and they recommended to replace it all. Isn't this something that is covered under warranty? I do open my sun roof a lot so I would not like this issue to come back again. Has anyone reapplied weatherstripping to their car at all?

Did you purchase the car new?
Is it still under warranty?
You can buy weather strip adhesive and do it your self
Just be sure and clean the area good.
Nail polish remover is a great cleaner.

Purchased the car used, but with an extended warranty from CarMax. Now that I think about it I don't think cosmetic issues is in the warranty.

What's the mileage? If under 60 you may have a claim no problem. Above that it depends on what CarMax coverage offers. Guessing doesn't help, you gotta call them and get the lowdown.

My weatherstripping - the black, rubber baffle looking thing that's on both the right and left side under the sunroof - had to be replaced on the drivers side because it came loose and the sunroof mangled it. Dealer replaced mine under warranty so I'm of no help on install but just to let you know you are not alone

I use my sunroof alot too and it kept bunching up when I'd close it. Dealer replaced it under warranty about a month ago.

Mine got replaced / repaired a few months ago, not sure exactly what part but it is already loose again. I am at 61k miles but luckily I had persistent sunroof issues before then that Kia customer care knows about so hopefully they will fix it under warranty still.

Mine has been great, I used it a lot during the warmer months. 4+ years, 37.6k mi. honestly the pana roof is the whole reason why I want a convertible for my next car. Why not have it all open?
