This is why cops won't usually pull you over for doing just a few mph over the speed limit, they are aware that a speedo isn't exact

With my Cadenza I noticed that my speedometer runs 2 MPH fast. This was confirmed by both a GPS unit and going by a stationary radar gun.
I did the same test with my folk's Cadenza and found the exact same thing. This was also the case on my last Subaru.
In doing some research, it seems that this is done on purpose and is common among car makers. I find it a bit annoying.

Don't worry as the tires wear near the limit your speed will be almost exact. Due to the smaller dia.
I'll have to agree with that one. You can have the dealer make sure that you speedometer is calibrated to the size wheels that you have (i.e. if you have the Limited, such as I do, it come with 19"wheels).
