I'm sure this is nothing new but I love the sound system. I came from a Bose powered Maxima (which sounded really good) and the infinity system blows it away. When I first test drove the car I was not impressed with the sound. It turned out that the dealership did not have the "surround" feature turned on. Turning it on completely transformed the sound quality. It is definitely the best I have heard on a stock system. Pair that with the HD radio function and the quality is hard to beat. I almost always stream music so I don't get much use out of the HD radio but when I use it there is a huge improvement over the regular radio sound.

Reason for post- If you dont have surround on, Turn it on.

I agree; this was a nice perk I wasn't expecting in the Cadenza. My reference track is Eagles Live - **** Freezes Over; Hotel California. Setting on enhanced surround mode and crank it up.

I've left many an occupant saying it felt like being at the concert. This system has excellent management of bass, highs and sound stage.

Awesome sound

KIA doesn't know how to sell this car. At the Toronto 2015 car show they only had 1 on display (base unit) and no SD chip in it so the sound system was disabled. When I got mine home I was fiddling with the set up because I thought the sound system sounded flat and there was only base and treble adjustment and then I turned on the surround option and BOOM what a difference! You can crank this baby up and there are no rattles or shakes just great sound - one of the best features of the car. KIA should make this a default setting.

I am going to have to check to see if I have the surround on. I like the system as is but I am going to check the setting in the morning.

Edit - Okay I went out and was trying to find the surround feature or selection and I am not seeing it. Where did you guys find the setting? How do you change it to surround? I have the SXL.

The clarity of this system is considerably better than my optima sx's infinity system...but the optima had a lot more punch from the woofer. I had to install an infinity sub all in one deal in the trunk to get more low end. I'm kind of surprised I don't hear that as a regular quibble, but I might just be a lil bass heavy in my taste...

Thanks for the tip about the sound system. I can't believe that the default setting is to have the surround sound off. You would think they would want it on for the test drives. Anyway, the surround is on in my car now and I notice a big difference.

subwoofer

beezwax-

is that the same as the jl audio cs110lg-tw3? I have been looking at putting one of those in, but trying to convince myself I can live with the stock bass (having always put massive systems in my cars, trying to be an adult now...)

That was one of the first things I did when I got the car home. I was expecting this very nice sound system and it just didn't seem correct to me. I figure maybe given my car was used the previous owner screwed something up. Turned on surround sound and boom! It sounds so good now. Huge oversite on KIA's part not having that on by default.

The system definitely needs more bass. I've got an Alpine Type R 12-inch sub and two amps that I want to throw in, but I've not had the time to get it done. Definitely a weak system, as far as bass goes, but the clarity is really nice. I must be in the minority for not liking the surround sound though

I have owned two Hyundai Genesis first one 2009 v6 3.8 and the second 2012 V8 4.6 with lexicon audio and i recently bought a Kia Cadenza preowned. The lexicon in the Genesis is one **** of a sound system and my cadenza's infinity does not even come close its decent but boy the lexicon audio system is amazing
