Tail lights

Dave-

I had it professionally done by the same guy that tinted the windows. It is a thicker film than window tint is, and that is "smoke." I could have went darker, they make another shade called "carbon," but I did not want to block too much of the light output. The smoke film still allows plenty of light through. The installer then took a razor and cut the clear parts of the tail light out. It gives a more stock appearance vs leaving that part dark as well.

Hey thank you Ryan for such a quick reply! I agree with leaving out the clear parts; very good looking. I will check around with tint shops then and I appreciate your mentioning smoke vs. carbon; I like what you have chosen ( smoke ). I had my windows tinted at purchase and that shop quit doing taillights as it was not conducive $ wise for their efforts (?); I can't imagine it's that hard although more labor always means more money. Did your shop price the tails separating from the window tinting?

My dealer tinted my windows as part of my deal but would have been about $160.00. I also have black and love the look; thanks for your help! Any other tips or info greatly appreciated.

best,
Dave

Dave-

Lol, I am at work, I have lots of time. The window tinting place charged me $60/tailight for $120 total. A little pricey, but I love the look. The installer also backs his work and materials for lifetime, so any problems or bubbles, he will fix. Not sure what other info I can offer you, but if you have any questions, definitely ask!

Regards,

Ryan

Ryan, again thanks. Great info and it helps to have a comparison price area when pricing. A bit more expensive than you would think, but, they are HUGE tailights after all.

I'm checking this out next week for sure; yours looks so good I can't wait to 'copy' you!

thanks, glad you aren't working too hard!

Drone Mobile

I work very far from where my car is parked, and live in upstate New York, so our winters are brutal. Having remote start is a godsend. Drone works as advertised, there is one small annoyance with it though. When you have remote started your car through drone, and then open the door, the alarm goes off for one honk. Also, when you use drone to remote start, you have to use drone to unlock your car, the fob will not work, not sure why. These small details do not stop drone from being completely worth it.

Where did you go to get it installed?

Nice to see the pics of your car on here. Will definitely be following the thread to see what else you'll be adding on. I'm sure that we all can learn a number of things from the stuff you've already installed and thanks for the tips on the drone remote start!

Does the "Drone" thing have a subscription? I know I sound old when I ask that but I'm not familiar with it and I'm at work, limited resources ATM and I know I'll forget on my way home lol.

Can you put the make and model of the Led bulbs you used?
