I’ve recently started hearing so much rattling going on in my 2014 Cadenza Limited.

When I accelerate or go over bumps, the area around my sunglasses holder either makes this loud creaking noise or it rattles.

Sunroof or headliner rattles whenever I go over bumps or when bass hits hard.

Somewhere in the front passenger door there’s a loud rattle when bass hits.

Rear deck/rear visor rattles when going over bumps or when bass hits.

And of course the infamous engine rattle.

Help! My dealer told me that it’s just the plastic parts rubbing against each other. And that it goes away when they expand from heat. And if it comes down to it. Turn the music up!

I had an annoying rattle from multiple spots on the sunroof. I'd call the preferred customer care line for cadenza owners and complain about your dealership. My old dealership decided not to diagnose it twice (half mile on the odometer) so the new dealership got a call from Kia escalations saying "don't screw this up".

Turns out 95% of it was fixed by replacing the bent over and hardened rubber sunroof seals.

Did it fix all the rattles? Did they come back?

Got it back a bit ago. Occasionally I hit a huge crater (good old central PA roads) and get a tiny bit of rattle from the rear of the sunroof or the passenger door. But comparatively, driving to the dealership I probably heard it rattle 50+ times in a 5 mile drive. I heard a rattle once or twice coming back and I think one of those was my sunglasses. And it's much quieter. Previously it was coming from 3 " from my ears and annoying as can be.

tbrm...this sounds very much like what I have been experiencing...more pronounced when I hit sharp pavement breaks or similar holes, but definitely from the sunroof area, seems more toward the front. Contacting my local dealership, who has been pretty good to me, he said there are 2 TSB's on sunroof rattle...or maybe there are 2 solutions for 1 TSB about sunroof rattles. Either way, there is a short procedure involving replacing some "felt" seals and some other things and there was the much more involved procedure of taking the entire sunroof out of the car (entire headliner has to come out first) and doing some sort of adjustments to it and all new seals before reinstallation. Since it was recently winter time here, and I have an all white interior we opted to put it off until Spring when the chances of my headliner staying clean were better. I don't know the TSB number(s) or the full procedure but that is my plan coming up soon depending on what my car is like when I get it back from the body shop - an entirely different story! Just the important parts are that it wasn't my fault and involves replacing the sunroof glass so I'm actually hoping the body shop fixes my rattles by default and I won't have to go see the dealer.
