So my passenger side mirror was replaced because over a small time period a metallic rattle happened inside the mirror. Issue was a small metal clip got loose inside the mirror. Well.....it is happening again on the same mirror. KIA Dealer said they replaced the mirror so possible defective issue making the mirrors or they really didn't replace it.

Want to give heads up to everyone and to check your side mirrors for a metallic rattle when closing the door.

My mirrors are fine. Does the noise happen while driving as well, or just when closing the doors?

Passenger mirror rattle

My rattle just started (2014 Cadenza, about 13,000 miles). I notice it when I decelerate - sounds like something sliding back in forth inside the mirror. Guess it's the clip that was referred to in an earlier post. I will talk to the dealer during my next oil change. Otherwise car has performed very well. Great value (I traded in my Infiniti M35 with 172,000 miles).

I never had a rattle, but noticed a small piece of metal sticking out under the mirror, and then disappeared after braking (never saw it again). But my mirror stopped functioning correctly - it couldn't go all the way down (noticed with the reverse auto-tilt feature that it wasn't going all the way down).

Dealer initially told me that it was because of how I had the mirror adjusted. Tried to tell them it used to go down. I had to get in a new Cadenza on the lot, adjust the mirrors to how I have them, and show them it does go down. Got it replaced under warranty, but had to do it twice because they painted the mirror incorrectly the first try (without the black). New one is working great.

Worth a check to see if your mirror is adjusting through the full range of motion,
