What can you tell me about adding a remote starter to a 2017 Cadenza? Considering buying my leased vehicle but really want a car with the remote start here in the midwest.

I paid about $700 locally but I got a lot added on. My remote start knows the cabin temperature and when it's below 45 degrees it also automatically turns on my heated seat, the heated steering wheel and the rear window defroster. I live in DE so while we don't get lots of snow we do get plenty of colder weather.

Was that an off the shelf unit or did the installer have to do a lot of custom work?
I believe it was an off the shelf unit then added a few things to work with whatever security our cars have and I also have phone remote access also...sorry forgot to mention that was part of the $700 price.

Just traded my Camry for a 17 Cadenza. Nice to drive, but I'm gonna miss the remote starting I had. Please share the name of the shop in DE. Thank you.

I used Audio Works in Newark. The system they installed is called Drone Mobile. You can look up the app and check it out to see if it will make you happy. I think I got the system in their earlier days as there used to be lots of updates and a few issues after the app updated, but in the last year or so it's been operating very smoothly and no issues after app updates any longer.

Currently, my only concern with this system is that the cell phone transceiver module that came with my system is ATT 3G which works just fine. However, the entire 3G cell system is going to be phased out during 2022-2025 time frame by all carriers. Drone Mobile does offer a 4G module, I just haven't committed to paying for that change yet. Might want to ask about that when you get ANY remote start (with cell phone capability) installed.

Where are you located? You should add your car details to your signature as well. Lots of information on here and also decent, knowledgeable people who will answer any questions.

Enjoy your ride!

I was apprehensive about the shops I spoke to in northeastern MD, so I took the one hour drive to Audio Works in DE.
For myself I just wanted a simple system to start my car in my driveway on frosty mornings. They installed a Compustar system that uses my factory fobs. Took under an hour to install for about $350.00. I thank you for tip. They impressed me.
