Hello All,

I have a 2015, and for some odd reason there is a LOUD embarrassing rattle coming from the rear deck where the subwoofer is. I've opened up the trunk and listened and it seems to be coming from inside - the point where the bottom of the rear window and frame meet. I can't physically see what it going on because of the trunk liner, but it is almost so much of a disappointment to sell the car and upgrade. I had a 2013 Veloster Turbo with the Dimension audio, and I was blown away as to how hard the stock subwoofer could hit, and not cause ANY rattles. The twice as expensive Cadenza…..not so much. I feel so let down by this car. I am blown away by the clarity of the Infiniti system in the Cadenza, but the lack of the bass response is a bit disappointing. It hits hard on the good notes, but others just sound like they "aren't there". A premium sound system is supposed to be able to played at a louder volume, and not have any problems. I keep my treble all the way up (for the clarity = goosebumps), mid set at 0, and the bass set at 5. It STILL feels like it's too much for the car to handle on the low ends. If I can just get the rattling in the rear deck fixed then I would be 100X happier with the car. It is SO MUCH LOUDER in the morning ESPECIALLY if it is cold outside. I really hope and pray someone else is experiencing this issue and can point me in the right direction. It is still covered under the factory warranty (3 yrs/36,000 miles) I believe….at least that's what the service tech told me. The dealership said they have NEVER heard of this issue before, which is strange because I've seen SEVERAL people complaining of the same issue.

Please….Someone help! Thank you!

I've never heard anyone else in this forum complain about this. Maybe some rattle in other areas but not here. I'm not really sure what to tell you about this one.

The sub is under powered in the car, for sure, but rattling would lead me to believe a plastic clip for it, or other debris is loose in the sub casing. I would have to look at the rear configuration, but I believe the sub sets down into the tray in the rear, allowing you to pull the cover off from inside the backseat of the car, and unscrew and pull up the sub.

I don't believe it's secured from the underside up into the deck. I'd check there before you consider pulling your trunk liner (It's a bear and the plastic clips are finicky and like to fly off and disappear into the ridiculously dark trunk)

If you can clear the rattle, my recommendation is to purchase a better sub/amp for the car like I did, but I wouldn't go too big.

If it's what I think it is, it has to do with the electronic shade covering the back window. If I have it up (covering the back window), songs with deep bass have recently caused a rattling noise in the back.

If I shut the shade, the rattling goes away.

A bit cheap sounding, I get the embarrassing part, just haven't looked back there to tighten things up yet.

It is the rear shade

I have a 2015 and the rear shade does rattle when it is in the "down" position when the sub hits certain frequencies. When it is in the "up" position, there is not a rattle from the sub. I have not taken the time yet to see if there is anything that can be changed on the rear shade to eliminate the rattle. If you do not have a rear shade, I don't know what the rattle is.

At least you can pinpoint yours :( I'm going to the dealer on Tues next week because I have no idea where mine is coming from, engine bay or under the car. It has a really weird rattle that only appears when my revs hit 1400-1500rpm.

Mine happens with sunshade down or up and sunroof shades opened. Still trying to figure out where it's coming from. I'll have to mention it my next oil change, I bought CPO so hopefully they will take a look.
