At the dealership for a Tpms sensor and oil change and they just said I need rear brake pads and they're $260. I can do then myself but in worried about the electronic parking brake. Does anything special have to be done to it. Is there a service mode or a way to disengage it?

I don’t know what sorcery you need to get that rear caliper piston to retract, but I can tell you it’s certainly not a C-clamp and an old brake pad. That method works for the front calipers, but not with the EPB in the rear. Maybe it needs a scan tool? Let me know if you figure it out.

Here’s another post I made about how to change the rear brakes on a 2015, I’m not sure how compatible it’ll be with the 2017. Rear Brake Rotor Replacement.......Good Luck !
