It is sad Beez...you should change your phone then...or car...or learn how to do thatgood luck bud... i've been selling KIA's for 3 years and never had a single phone/car pair that i was successful with
Why did you decide it's supported in a first place?I have an iPhone 4s and can't seem to figure out how to read/respond to text messages. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Is it working now? Nope, nothing in Uvo services at least for me. The car comes with a uvo manual, I know there are advanced functions listed in there if you are having issues with connectivity.Thanks. Did you have to do anything in UVO to enable the texting functionality or just your phone?
That's cool...could you please describe how this process works with your Windows phone? The car isn't the one actually responding to your commands its your phone, the phone needs the ability. I use a windows phone and I can reply and read text messages with no problem.
Check your iPhone settings, make sure your message preview is not turned off, that is what siri uses to read the text messages. Its in notifications then messages I believe.
When my phone is connect via Bluetooth, whenever I get a new text message on my phone, the dash will display the Phone Screen, then my phone reads through my car audio " Text message from John Doe, would you like to read or ignore it? "That's cool...could you please describe how this process works with your Windows phone?
Are you saying some command to read text message( similar to Siri) through the car's mic? Then car should understand that command, right?
Andrei
So if you get a text on your phone right now, will Siri read it? If so, then when connected to your car, it should read the text message and other options. If not, then you need to ensure the Preview Text is configured on your phone first. No, I cannot get it to work. Check advanced section of manual and there is nothing mentioned in it....seems really weird to me that they dont mention texting at all in any documentation.
Thanks for detailed instructions murrwin! So if you get a text on your phone right now, will Siri read it? If so, then when connected to your car, it should read the text message and other options. If not, then you need to ensure the Preview Text is configured on your phone first.
iPhone works perfectly with UVO, calls and music...the only reading and sending text messages required to press button for SiriNot to hijack, but what is the best phone to interface with Cadenza. I'm looking at possibly the Samsung Note (android). Should that work well with Cadenza UVO? I'm using Blackberry now, but I'm ready for a change.
I hope that all you guys get your phones and cars working together like they're supposed to. UVO gets talked-up alot to have the difficulties is seems to have in some cases.
Enjoy your Saturday, guys!
John
Yes, just like you normally activate Siri...press and hold home button@Andrei, are you saying you can activate Siri via the Bluetooth in the cadenza? If so, how? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah no problem, anything I can do to help. Sucks that its not set up to automatically activate Siri when used with Headsets. Thanks for detailed instructions murrwin!
However on iPhone first you need to press and hold home button to activate Siri and then you could ask it to read message....
I could not find anything like preview text option though.
However when i activated Siri manually I was able to communicate with it via Bluetooth ....however voice recognition much worse on Siri then native Cadenza...
Cadenza could understand my commands and addresses much better then Siri do
So it seems for now your phone won over iphone which doesn't show anything on display when text message received...and manual step required to initiate Siri for reading message.
Thanks again for your info as now I know that I can use Siri via Bluetooth
