Hey guys. Hope everyone is good!

So.. ive had my sxl for a month now and the nappa seats in the front and back where ur legs come on down from the seat.. looks pretty darn worn out for a car thats only been used for a month. I never wear jeans or other rough texture pants so.. I dont think its the rubbing while getting in and out. Also I see wrinkles forming around the back support area. My optima sxl also had nappa but took quite a bit for these "symptoms"to appear. Is this normal for this kind of leather or should I talk to the dealer? Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!

odd. My nappa still looks, sits, and feels new, and, it is the white color. I'm a big guy and usually wear jeans, too. Have had car a year; only 3200 miles, but, am in and out often and have been super pleased to see no wear or wrinkles. I don't even notice dirt which surprised me.

maybe posting a pic on here might help others to provide input?

congrats on your car; if in doubt; definitely take it to the dealer and press them for answers and or replacement.

good luck!

I have 24000 miles on mine and I don't see unsual wear and tear from the leather... in fact, it holds up better than my old 2010 550i.

quite happy
I think the newer bmw leathers are much nicer than the older ones, although it "feels" a bit thinner than the older ones. How does the 5 series leather compare in long run?

I had an 2004 a4 awhile back and I really liked how they felt thick and seemed to tightly wrap around the seat frames. And those took some beating and was still good

My 550i was only 2 years old when I had it... was a wrecked car that was fixed and sold for a ridiculous price... anywho... it has about 30k on it and wasn't happy with the leather... the Candenza seats are far more comfy also... then again the 550i was very sporty

I am getting a "blue jean stain" on my driver seat leather. Car only has 4200 miles!
Clean it then. I use HD Total degreaser cleaner (diluted, 10 to 1 if I remember right). Then follow with leather conditioner. I do this maybe every two months. At 11,500 miles my white interior still looks new.

Thanks for the advice!Just thought it was kinda soon to be having these issues.
I agree with you; too soon for such issues. Unless you have left wet blue jeans on the seat in the hot sun; it shouldn't leave a stain transfer just from sitting and driving while wearing blue jeans. I've worn new blue jeans on my white leather with absolutely no transfer; worn in hot weather, and cold weather with the seat heater on; no problems.

I would definitely take it to dealer and show the GM; often new leather's sealing is not set enough to withstand staining; Lexus had quite a problem for several years and had to replace seat covers due to staining from jeans, dark fabrics, and leather belts.

Nappa is premium lamb/sheep leather and the finish is advertised as very premium; take it to your GM and if he won't replace it; contact KIA corporate and open a case with them.

Good luck and Happy New Year.

Great feedback! I will definitely not let it go unnoticed when I take it in next week for the 5,000 mile service. Happy New Year to you guys as well!
