Hello All,

I just picked up a Cadenza this weekend from the local dealship. it's a MY14 with 2200 miles. It was a regional manager's car and I was able to wheel and deal $14k off the price. Also, under Colorado law, it is a used car @ 1500, so taxes are less and I still get the Kia 10/100 coverage.

Being new to Kia, I am wondering about performance mods. Nothing goofy like "Cold" Air Intakes, but things that actually will further enhance the sleeper aspect of the car. Things like, addition breathing into the airbox, manifold heat spacer, etc. Out of the box, it is a really well put together ride, but I do not mind opening it up a little and regaining some of the noises the factory tried to hide.

This thing is really nice, there is just not much more to do to it on the inside, it has everything. I did see one with a tan interior, not bad, but I like the different colored door inserts the grey interior has.
I noticed on the tan that the dash pad, the part over the cluster was the same tan color, mine, on the grey interior is black like the rest of the dash.

And the 19" Satim chrome rims, well, they are hard to beat and the tires are grippy and quiet. I won't be doing much there, except saving up for when those monsters need re-shoed...

I used to be really involved in the VW and Audi forums with this kind of talk and playing around with our cars. Hopefully you folks are the say way. :)

So, I wanted to say hi and I am looking forward to chatting with all you fine folks.

Mark

Welcome! No gear heads going crazy just yet. Only a few eletrical mods and suspension stuff.
Welcome! As soon as some of the more... extensive modifications become available to us here in the states, I will be giving them a shot. Until then, I keep doing my homework and seeing what I can do with the car as it sits.

Enjoy your stay and feel free to ask any questions you have, there are a ton of knowledgeable people on here, and everyone is fairly friendly. :)
Welcome aboard
Not many mods yet, car is still a new model not that many sold so aftermarkets are still watching sales
Replace the air filter with the K&N replacement; it is as simple as it gets. No tools, just pull out the old and insert the K&N.

Just got my k&n did you need tools to change it? I tried to change it in the parking lot of the auto parts store and the cover didn't seem to want to come off easily
Welcome aboard to the forum.

We have a few mods available, but nothing really performance wise.

Checkout what's available on our site for the Cadenza here: K5 Optima Store - Kia Cadenza Products

Let us know if you have any questions. We will be introducing several new items this summer as well.

Thanks,

David

If I remember correctly there may be some catbacks/exhaust mods that may help with a few HP and noise. Not really sure about much else that wasn't mentioned. LEDs are big for our guys. I still need to get my LED fogs...

Just pop open the tabs on the air box and carefully open it like a "clam shell."

Pull out the old air filter and replace with the K&N. The replacement should fit exactly like the old filter. Make sure you have it facing the correct way for air flow (it is labeled). Also make sure you have a good seal before shutting and re-closing the tabs. No tools and you are good to go
