With a lineup focusing on excitement and value, Kia is stretching its legs in the 2014 model year and expanding into the realm of large upscale sedans with the 2014 Kia Cadenza. While the Cadenza maintains Kia's fun-to-drive mentality and has a price tag well below some of its most luxurious competitors, it has arrived at dealerships on a mission to make a major splash in the upscale sedan segment.

While Kia plans to reach further into the luxury segment in coming years, the 2014 Cadenza is the brand's first major attempt at an upscale sedan — and it appears to be a successful one. The only engine available in the new Cadenza is an aluminum 3.3-liter V6 that outputs 293 horsepower and 255-lb.-ft. of torque with front-wheel drive. With a curb weight under 3,700 lbs. and dynamic handling, the Cadenza's performance more than holds its own in its class. Fuel economy figures sit at an EPA-estimated 19 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway.

Car shoppers will revel at the interior of the Cadenza, which is highlighted by Kia's Microsoft-powered UVO infotainment system. Through that system, drivers are in complete control of everything from audio and diagnostic information to Trip Assist and emergency services. With an immersive 550-watt, 12-speaker audio system, sound is delivered with clarity no matter which method of connectivity is used.
Upscale sedan shoppers can find the Cadenza at selected metro-dealers nationwide, availability increasing to more rural dealers as production and shipments expand.
