What will this mean for KIA? I know NK workers were trained in to SK to work, I know a lot of these cars are manufactured worldwide, but really, will this have any impact on the 3 car brands, Hyundai, Kia and Genesis? It's a great end to a long standoff, that is a certainty!

“There will not be any more war on the Korean Peninsula. The new era of peace has finally opened and we are declaring that,” Moon Jae-in said. “Today, chairman Kim and I have agreed that a complete denuclearization will be achieved. That is our common goal. We reaffirm that is our goal. … A complete denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula will be starting. And for a complete peace to arrive South and North Korea will collaborate closely. I announce that and also we declare the end of the war and also signing the peace treaty. We will totally end the war on the Korean Peninsula and will establish sound and solid peace on the Korean Peninsula.”

Yes, this is great news but I'd have to say be cautious moving forward with things. While I'm optimistic that this will continue and truly bring peace there I have to think that there is possibly some hidden motive on Kim Jung Un's part. The photo of them shaking hands over the demarcation line however is truly historic and quite powerful, I actually like this photo very much. I really want this to last and become a thing and for NK to become free and its people able to prosper like the South, it's going to be a huge adjustment and probably a bumpy road. I really hope this won't come back to bite us in any way since China a Russia appear to be taking a bit of a stance against us, but hopefully this will all blow over once the Left investigation is done and tensions can ease with Russia for alleged meddling.

I don't believe any of it. My opinion - this was Kim Jong Un's plan all along - develop nukes, negotiate to get rid of nukes in exchange for lifting all sanctions and U.S. military off the penninsula, all the while keeeping nukes. And a unified Korea to NK means a communist unified Korea. ROK and US are playing right into NKs hands.

It's going to be a long road, but finally one in the right direction. First thing to consider, Kim is a dead man in his own country once they realize his oppressive power was actually crimes against humanity. And he knows that. His only logical defense is to claim he was brainwashed no different then the rest of the society into believing that SK and USA were and would always be enemies.

I'm game for unified Korea, the South's government must remain the power that controls it all. Will we get that, or some other half baked outcome? I don't know. But I have to think that SK has been working so hard for so long to achieve a unified Korea that they may already have a plan to merge the two into the free government. One can only hope it goes that well.
