Buyers of the 2014 Kia Cadenza will automatically become HD Radio owners as the carmaker announces it will put the technology on all the Cadenzas that roll off the assembly line. Three other Kia models already offer digital radio as an option, and two other models will offer the feature in 2014.
Kia Motors America’s chief technology strategist Henry Bzeih says it’s one of the ways the company is going after the highly-competitive market for improved dashboard audio systems. “As the Kia brand has grown, so too have our customers’ expectations of the features they expect in our vehicles,” he explains. Ibiquity says HD Radio has been announced for more than 160 car models to date, about half of those include the feature as standard equipment.
