My key fob has been acting up on me lately. Car doesn't like to unlock, especially after walking in the cold. Sometimes the buttons don't work from even 10ft awa and only walking up works, other times pushing the buttons a bunch of times just a foot away from the car is needed to get it to unlock.

At first I thought it was the fob battery in the cold but it started happening even when the fob was warm, it may be the car battery and my dash cam plus the cold. Bumping up the cutoff voltage a bit helped but now it's temperamental again.

It doesn't seem to have any trouble starting up though once the key cooperates. Is this typical behavior or is there a chance that the car battery needs replacement?
