Heated Steering Wheel Question

2015 Cadenza SXL...

Does anyone have any idea why the heated steering wheel is not heated all the way around...including the "wooden" upper portion?

We also have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit, with the same Leather/Fake Wood design, and its heated all the way around the full circumference, including the "wooden" portion.

I find it odd that the wheel on the Cadenza is not heated all the way around...that "wooden" portion gets cold!

Another flaw in the design of a real "luxury" car.. But this is Kia's first go at making a luxury car so I guess I'll give em a break for this one

They probably went with the theory that you should be driving with hands at the 9 and 3 o'clock position, or even 10 and 2 o'clock. I agree it would have been nice if the whole wheel was heated, especially this past week when temperatures were around 0deg F.

my two cents.

My guess is they had trouble with the material used, and was afraid that the faux finish would crack or peal with constant use of the heater…of course just a theory.
