Hey Techy guys!

Has anyone swapped out the stock sub for something aftermarket?
Anyone know what the ohm rating is and how much power goes to the stock sub?

Its going to be a 8 or a 4 ohm sub
I wonder if I can retro fit my 10w3 in it's place
I have my system sitting at home, ready to be installed, but I just dont know if I want to do it. Have a couple amps and a 12" Alpine Type R sub. The stock system leaves a little to be desired in the bass department for my tastes, but I dont know if I want to put that system in that vehicle

I agree. The Infinity system is good but I would prefer more bass. With that said, I won't be making any changes.
Could you add an additional sub and/or amp in the trunk?
you can add another sub with a line out converter... i just don't want to hog up my truck space with a box... naw mean?

rather than a box, i could fab up a bracket to mount my 10w3 into stock or near stock location and mount small amp up in there also.
There's plenty of room in the trunk for a box. I've got the single box and have put it in there just to see how it fits, and it doesnt take up much room at all. I'd have to look further for mounting points for the amps, but I'm sure its doable

i would probably just mount the amp to the back of the box.

Only one will fit; I've got two amps - one for the sub, and one for the highs

I like your thinking here. I've been looking at the 8w7 (MONSTA!), but the cubic space needed is fine, but i'd lose my forward trunk space and couldn't use the pass-thru. Do you think if you fit your 10w3 in place of the current 8, you'd have the adequate amount of space for it to sound good? Really interested in your thoughts on this. Also, it's been FOREVER since I've done anything aftermarket stereo-wise, and given that I don't want to mess up the current system, does it matter where you add the line-out converter? Do you know of any schematics that could assist us on this? Thanks man.
i can't really answer any of your questions to be honest pal... i havent even looked at what i have to work with.. i just have the equipment from a previous system to use. I'm in no hurry to do this but i promise to update once i begin.

Jake Jesty is an audio guy and i think he has a setup in his trunk.... he would prolly be more knowledgable to do this
