Gonna move on

I have had a shitty time with the KIA dealers around Austin. I called and talked to someone at all three and even spent an hour at South Point KIA with no luck earlier this month.

The salesman at South Point is a guy who used to work at the same place with me so I figured that's gotta be some good luck, he actually recognized me and then we started talking about work and sure enough, we worked at the same place for a while. He ran some numbers for a 2017 tech package and came back with a lease price of $458/month or so, I was ready to pull the trigger at that price. Problem was there were none around yet. Two were on the way to north Texas but they would have to get them down here to Austin and I was told that would be a few weeks, mid March, before they even got into Texas. He also mentioned the 'tax special' that was going on now was about to expire and prices would change. I went back to KIA.com a few days later and checked the price and it was at $414 for a Tech so I called and asked why didn't I get that price. I don't recall the reason but it wasn't possible, it didn't include something or another but whatevs, I couldn't get that price. I also didn't get an answer if I could order the exact one I wanted and wait for it to get here.

So a few weeks later I am looking on KIA trying to see if there are any in Texas (random zips) yet and nope, none around. But the price for the tech went up to $679!!!!! And it's still that high now. My lease ends June 6th so I gotta have something late May already lined up. So they had a price of $414 in Early March but I couldn't even get a Tech or Limited but once they start getting here the price is stupid high. Look now, you should see some tech and limiteds out there.

I called Capital KIA and talked to them and they were going to call me if a white/black tech shows up anywhere or a white/white SXL but at the prices they are now, heck no. I emailed two people at Southwest KIA in Round Rock and asked for the same colors and still haven't heard from them. There is a white/white tech 120 miles from me but the price is still out of this world.

Unless some super fly deal shows up in 6-8 weeks I already have a car lined up. I put an order in for an Octane Red 2017 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack with Dynamics Package ACN [20x9.5 rims (looks like the H3ll Cat rims and brakes), Pirelli 275/40ZR20 tires, Brembo 6 piston brakes], Leather with alcantara (like suede) Perf Seat package GQ/-X9 (heated, vented front seats, heated rear, seat/mirror memory, tilt down mirrors in reverse, heated steering wheel, blind spot detection, heated mirrors), Driver Confidence package AJV (courtesy lamps on mirrors, HID projection lamps, parksense rear park assist, cross path traffic detection), Tech Group package ADG (advanced brake assist, rain sensitive wipers, full speed forward collision warning plus, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning system). And more, I didn't type up everything on these options.
I listed all these option because it's pretty much every thing the Cadenza SXL has with these packages added on. On top of that, it has the 6.4L V8 HEMI with 485HP and 475TQ!!!
The price on the order sheet shows MSRP $47,130 and FWP (invoice) $44,991. After the rebates and cash back stuff he estimated the monthly lease price at $475. I know it's an estimate but there is no way it will jump any where near the Cadenza price. Plus I didn't even have to put a deposit down or have them run a credit check so if I don't want it when it gets here I'm free to walk away.

I don't think I will walk away, though. The car pic included, from Google, is with the stock wheels and tires.

H3ll Cat wheels and tires are this:

There's no way in **** I'd every pay that for a Dodge lol (no offense). Have you read on them at all? I haven't heard anyone that I know that has one that likes them for long. I've never researched it mind you but I always hear about them in the shop, at least for law enforcement (I know different driving). A guy here at work has had his for less than a year and its given him several problems over this winter to where he missed work (or at least that's what he says). Just remember if you do get it, it's a Fiat now :p

I'd consider that too. My only issue is I think the engine is too big...gas mileage is important to me. But I think you're in a better place, and who cares about issues, it's new, full warrantee...at a decent lease price. A shame you can't get the Cadenza though...

Does it have a green front lip?
No, it seems to be a cover to protect the edges for the splitter. Most of them had it along with the Challengers.
My View the Cadenza is far better looking but I'm a Kia guy My Cadenza ia my 4th Kia in 6 yeats

My Cadenza is my 3rd and 6th KIA between my ex and I. The Optima SXL I had before this was a great car, this Cadenza is great, too. Still no Tech packages or Limited within 150 miles. Not sure what is taking so long.

I hear ya, I got my Sportage because they couldn't find a 2017 Cadenza anywhere. I enjoy my AWD and the extra space, but I miss the uniqueness.

In the end, I may just buy another 2014 from Carmax and call it a day. I too have thought of getting a Charger, I have a baby on the way, so its 4-doors from here on, but I feel so dirty when I drive one... there should've been a manual transmission offered... it just doesn't feel right in Auto :(

Keep us in the loop on what you find though!

Thanks for posting here, Beez. I think my mind is made up. The guy at Capital KIA says he could trade for a white/white limited up by Dallas (Southwest KIA) but they were still quoting $570/month over the phone. I'm not gonna go over $500 for a limited and probably wouldn't feel good going over $420 for a tech and they couldn't come close to those prices two weeks ago when we went back and forth. I guess I just got really good equity from my Optima SXL that they gave me such a good deal on the 2014 Cadenza SXL at $400.33 a month.
Just leased a 2017 Cadenza Tech in Blue for $372 a month with 700 down. I'm in LA. Don't give up!

I leased a 2014 Cadenza Premium with Luxury previously for 340 a month. I was hoping for the same deal but prices seem to have jumped.

Good luck!
Wow, not a bad lease price for a Tech. Honestly I hate the way they changed the packages up and split everything. I love what I have in my '14 Premium with Lux. Now the Tech has only some of the things I wanted and quite a few of the things I didn't want. I still haven't seen a '17 in my area in person but from online still I'm not impressed with their looks. I have however started to see more '14s in my area :) Drove right next to 1 on the highway on Friday last week and now see someone else at my gym has a smokey blue SXL, yay
