As you can see in the video, my windshield is completely loose (from the top portion at least) , I recently found this out after trying to reattach the components near the rear view mirror.. I am curious as to how everyone else's components are mounted to the windshield, as the glass company I have my car at says using glue or sticky adhesive isn't the correct way to mount the lane departure camera or any of the components. I bought the car used from CarMax and have had no repairs of the windshield, and it is the factory windshield from Kia. Please everyone check their windshields, I was lucky to find out... My components were falling off of the windshield due to failure of the sticky adhesive.. and once I tried pushing them back onto the windshield the whole windsheild pushed up... Very scary.

I had a windshield leaking at the bottom seal, only about a year old (Preowned, not 100% sure it wasn't a replacement window, but it did get replaced under warrantee). Every time it rained there was water pouring out of the dash over my feet on drivers side.

It took 2 visits for them to finally agree with me, first was a "leak specialist" blamed my power wire for the amp going into the top of the grommet, second time I went in during a rainstorm, and pulled in, showed them bone dry under the hood around grommet, ****, the whole engine bay was dry and it was a monsoon...water pouring over the feet...they agreed it was likely the windshield. Then a third and final visit once they got the windshield in for the replacement, problem was solved.

But your situation...holy sh!t!

You may have an OEM windshield that was replaced because of a chip or break that was not recorded .The problem was that the installer might have screwed and it almost certainly wasn't a kia dealer as their would be a record of it under the VIN

Yikes... that sounds like a nightmare... I had a leak in the top left corner of my windshield and thought it had something to do with the sunroof.. found that the weather stripping around my sunroof was completely loose, had that fixed.. the leak never came back... now I think the real culprit was the windshield.. haha!
Holy cow! That's crazy. I'm away from the car right now, will give mine a look when I get back next week.
Yes please check it... it could be a defect from the manufacturing process..

Yeah, I checked with Kia and CarMax, there is no history of windshield repairs or replacements... CarMax did however cover the costs to re-seal the windshield, since they should have caught this during their 125 point inspection that they supposedly do on every vehicle they buy. I also showed them this video and they were speechless..

The glass company did an excellent job, they were worried about my sensors being glued/sticky taped on, but all my sensors are working correctly.

I have a 2015 Cadenza which I bought in June 2019. Great car but I've been hearing an annoying clicking sound when going over bumps. Couldn't figure out where it was coming but recently it's been doing it more often. Eventually I was convinced that it sounded like glass. I pushed up on the top portion of the windshield and it pushed out with little effort. Did the same on the passenger side which popped out even easier. Crazy...!!! Fortunately I have a 2nd car that I can drive until I get this checked out and fixed. Other issues is the AC is very weak. Also a portion of the dash peels up in the heat....... Got the car for $16K (35,000 miles) which was a sweet deal for me. Overall it's a great car but has a few issues.....

AC in mine I've had the Compressor replaced, then about a year later the Expansion valve replaced. The second repair took 2 weeks to diagnose and complete. I had a loaner and was covered under warranty. But in both circumstances it was a weak AC for sure. Also had my windshield replaced under warranty for the same reason. Bad seal. I was actually getting water falling from the drivers side dash when driving in the rain. I never experienced a loose windshield, but then I also had mine replaced pretty early in the ownership. There's a thread for both of these burred in the forum with plenty of additional detail...

Faulty factory seal. I'm guessing most of those vehicles (at least from a certain production time period) have the same issue. No way Kia wouldn't be aware of this and they of course wouldn't want to do a recall for the issue.
The seal has to be replaced but the windshield has to be fully removed to do that and it's hard for the windshield to be removed without it cracking. Which means more than likely the entire windshield will end up being replaced (about $750).

Summary of Complaint

WE NOTICED THAT WHEN WE WOULD CLOSE OUR CAR DOORS IT WOULD MAKE A LARGE POPPING SOUND AND WE REALIZED THAT IT WAS THE WINDSHIELD. I TOUCHED IT AND WHEN I DID IT LIFTED FROM THE CAR. THE WINDSHIELD IS NOT SECURED TO THE CAR! I HAVEN'T HAD THE CAR A YEAR YET AND IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH KIA TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED.
