I know most of you know about the black soot that builds on the exhaust tips and I know most of you clean them. Was just curious if anyone has even taken them out to do so? I was thinking of going this route this weekend if it isn’t too hard. Would love some input, thanks

As far as I'm aware it's built into the back bumper and not a separate unit that can be taken out. But then again I've never looked that closely into it and maybe someone else can tell you better, but I'd say be careful before you try to take anything off. If you've looked into it further than that already then great job

You can clean the **** out of it with a polish of some kind, plexi or chrome type mild abrasive. I've cleaned my all the way inside to were all the black came off and you could actually see metal for a few days. Then every time I wash the car I clean all they way in it again, much easier once you've polished off all the caked on stuff.
Wasn’t as hard an expected. I went ahead and looked under car and just saw that there were only 4 bolts holding it in place so I went ahead and took them out. Only thing tricky was actually getting it out of there but it still was pretty easy. Thanks for the input though!

Wow, I honestly thought it was 1 piece, but that's why I put the disclaimer in Glad you got it out, these things do get really dirty. I just clean the tips really well and then put a damp drying cloth (like you get from an automated car wash) into the insides of mine. I don't know that I never see black still but I rub it until it's at least not super black coming out.
