You can use something called a mirror tap. If you have an Escort unit and it takes the RJ-11 power plug ( looks like a phone plug ),,, then you need MODEL MT-2012 you can find all kinds of people online selling them,, or direct from manufacturer,,, WWW.MIRRORTAP.COM ,,,, the company that makes these is J28 DESIGN INC.

I dunno about the Escort but I use a Valentine One and it uses the same RJ11-type connector.

 

[Passive]

I went with the Escort 79-000041-02 Direct Wire SmartCord (Blue Light). Wired to the fuse box, mounted the remote mute/Power LED under the console and ran the power connection (RJ-11) up the a-pillar then under the headliner and then down the mirror. Then I bought a PerformancePackage Mirror Mount Radar Detector Bracket. I see then now offer the bracket with the mirror power connection that you posted about. Either way beats having a cigarette lighter power cord stretched to the detector.

Which wires did you connect to? Red with red. Black with?
