Firstly Happy Memorial day to my American fellow Cadenza owners. Secondly, I don't quite understand why my EPB comes on sometimes when I park and other times it does not. I always know when it does come on because of the distinctive noise of the brake engaging I hear as I open my driver's side door. Does anyone else experience this and is that something my service department should look at next time I go in for service. I only manually engage the EPB when I park on a hill regardless of how my wheels are turned. Thoughts or comments?

Problem solved from the other cadenza Forum If the auto hold is on then the EPB comes on once the c ar is put into park. Makes intuitive sense.

The more information the better .These forum(s) are pretty slow, not many posts which to some would be a good sign that the car runs really well ( I just finished my 12-month anniversary and besides some Sinus issue ( Sirius issues not Kia) the car has had no problems. n my view I find it interesting for fellow Cadenza owners to post about some of the quirky issues. It's interesting to read about fellow owners experiences

Update tg EPB:
Here is the actual explanation from the 2016 Kia Manual where I should have gone first :

EPB (electric parking brake) may be
automatically applied when:
• Requested by other systems
✽ NOTICE
If the driver turns the engine off by
mistake while Auto Hold is operating,
EPB will be automatically
applied. (Vehicles equipped with
Auto Hold)
• If the driver's seat belt is not fastened
and the engine hood or trunk
is opened, a warning will sound
and a message will appear.
• If there is a problem with the vehicle,
a warning may sound and a
message may appear.
If the above situation occurs,
depress the brake pedal and release
EPB by pressing the EPB switch
