Well for anyone new to my "Cadenza Problems" I have announced here.......here is a summary first of all my problems with the car..........

- Passenger Metallic Rattle in side mirror (FIXED)
- Dent in rear trunk behind placement of Cadenza Badge Wording, replace trunk lid back panel (FIXED)
- Sunroof Switch Replacement (FIXED)
- Driver Side Fog Light Replacement (Condensation - FIXED)
- Driver Side Mirror Loud Motor sound when unfolding (FIXED but dealer did a terrible paint job, working on getting it done over again)
- Air Pocket in Tire side wall (FIXED)
- Rear parking assist failure (currently at dealer still, had to have a higher level engineer actually fly in to work on the issue)

New Issues:
- Drive side wiper blade is shaking
- Metallic rattle when car starts (Engine oil is not low and have been following maintenance in manual)
- Sometimes I here a popping sound from the wheel well when making sharp slow turns.

Been talking with Kia Consumer Affairs, was able to get the Region Parts and Service Manager for the whole east coast with Kia to fly out and look at my car. He stated that he was concerned about the Back up System and the Engine Knock on start up. The dealership couldn't fix the back up system sensors and had to fly in one of the top engineers that worked on the Kia cars to come look at the system.

Since I have been having so many problem with my car, I really hope something is wrong with the engine, if so I think I should be able to get it labeled as a lemon and get a new car.

Do you think this would happen? Anyone know the laws on new cars deemed as lemons?

**NOTE: Also, since I have so many issues with my car, Kia is paying one month of my car payment. :)

im no expert but i think 3-6 times for the same issue then it's a lemon... i think there are different rules like 3 is its a safety issue or life threatening and 6 if its something non life threatening.

you've had a string of bad luck with your buddy... i feel for you. unfortunately tho... it happens. sounds like they have tried to take good care of you by paying your payment... hopefully get you an equal loaner car. ive never heard of a service department going through the lengths of flying in an engineer from service corporate to help with the problem tho.... impressive...
Call the consumer affairs department of your state's attorney general's office. They will be able to help you whether or not it's covered under the lemon law. As Beezwax pointed out, it's probably not due to the fact that it does have to be seen for the same reason a number of times, but logging a case with them won't hurt anything.

If it was my car that had so many issues I'm pretty sure I'd be up the dealers *** 24/7, but it looks like they're sympathetic to your issues and trying to help. That's more then I've ever received from any dealer...
Thanks as always with your feedback :) I have been looking at the Maryland Lemon Laws, getting all my stuff ready! :)

I have contacted Kia Consumer Affairs and been working with them from Day 1. It was Kia Consumer Affairs that have been sympathetic, the Dealer has not in anyway shape or form. It was my constant calls to Kia Consumer Affairs and their efforts.

Thanks for the information, I will contact my states attorney general about this issue.

I should have known better. :) Good luck and keep us posted.
Sorry for the luck man. Mine has started the "cold startup rattle". I think its a heat related issue like my Ram had. The had to recall the manifold bolts to have the problem fixed on the truck.
GDI motors are noisy during cold start up naturally
Yup mine is loud too
The rattle reminds me of a dry sump oil system. The timing chain may be dry for a couple of seconds at start up and quiets down once the oil is present. My Yamaha FJR1300 makes the very same sound as my Cadenza. I always give it a minute before revving the motor.

Well, I had $3,400.00 Plus of work done on my engine to fix the Engine Start-up rattle. There now is now more rattle and feel like my horsepower is back. They did a CVVT Engine Replacement with new CAM Shafts and etc....... Still have issues with my Backup Assistant Program though.....problems are still an issue with it. :(
When you say problems with back up assist? I had some problems as well like it would beep with the red lines (as close as I could get ) yet I was actual in the middle of the street? So It wasn't making any sense. I talked to my service and haven't had a problem again.
When you say $3400 worth of work with new cams, CVVT, etc. I am assuming that you didn't pay and they covered all of that??

yes! For everything!
@ murrwin320 I hope things get better for ya. Looks like a while since you posted. Anything changed ? Did they end up getting you into a different car, or fix the issues ?
I hope you have spoke to your lemonlaw attorney..
Free Lemon Law Help and Information is who I used for my 2014 Taurus SHO.. good stuff, sounds like you're on the way bro.. if it's been in the shop for more than 30 days.. get rid of it
UPDATE:

All my paperwork as been submitted to Kia Corporate and Lemon Law Case is at the high level now.

In the mean time, car is still having issues.............

1. Engine Rattle at Start up is back even after $3,400.00 of engine work done, Loss of Engine Performance/Power
2. Volume Button on Steering Wheel doesn't work anymore
3. Passenger Side Mirror pops (glass mirror only) off when going threw Touch Free Car Wash, Pops off from the air dry at the end
4. Backup Assist Program still very flaky, sensors non operational, Camera screen flickers
Well good luck with your case keep us updated on what happens? I have been having problems with my backup sensors as well sometimes they will beep red even though nothings behind and the backup camera will only sometimes show my backup lines. Anyone else having like a crackling sound from the panoramic roof, i had it repaired which took 10 days but its back when i go over a bump and it crackals.

Yeah, I'm having some moonroof cracking noises when going over bumps too. It didn't do that for the first few months but now it does. It's annoying. I wonder if this is a known issue on the moonroof issue?? What did they do to "fix" yours??
@Theil24

Yes first time they replaced all 80 clips in the roof, took headliner down and took them 10 days to fix. Then one of clips broke for my head unit for the sunroof control and they had to replace it. They said corporate never heard of this before but it went away for about a month and now its back. Yes it gets annoying but i guess its from the panoramic roof. My sister has a lexus with same roof but she hasnt had a problem with it.
