Cadenza freeway MPG

I just wanted to report that on a trip from Huntington Beach to Temecula and back the Cadenza achieved an 29 MPG average for the round trip (highway only). When I got on the freeway I set the cruise control to 75 MPH and reset the avg. mpg to zero.

Even with an average amount of traffic I think the mileage was great.

Awesome mileage, Guy!

You lucked out and got one with exceptional fuel mileage. I hope I get one like that. I figured I could count on 23 mpg average. Have you had an opportunity to check city/hwy average mileage?

John
John,

I do 90 percent of my driving in the city going up and down the hills and I'm right at 20 MPG without doing much worrying about it. I can get it down to 15-16 MPG very easy though.

Once this motor gets to 4,000 rpm it likes to go!

That sounds okay, Guy. I don't really care that much about gas mileage even though it's a nice bonus. I've owned trucks, Suburbans, Tahoes, Hot Rods, and as long as they have power to get out of situations when need be, that's all I need.

It pi$$e$ me off to have a car that doesn't "get out of it's own way" when you are in trouble. I have an Impala company car, a 3.5 V-6 (I think about 210 hp) that just about does nothing when you stomp on it until it revs to red-line, downshifts, and about make you look like an idiot. When I need to accelerate, I really think it's important to get it when you need it (like right now).

It sounds great that the Cadenza will do that! And that it will get good mileage, too, when you baby it a bit.

My average 22.8 mpg...50/50 hwy/city...with hard acceleration once in awhile .... all other time I enjoy limousine like smooth start :)
Andrei,

I would take that mileage in a minute. That's a good compromise if you're getting good power, as well. ...I'll take that "limo smooth", too!
I also got 29 mpg on a recent road trip. Normal driving for me is 30/70; city with frequent stops and highway respectively and average 24.7 mpg. I averaged 25.4 with my Optima SXL the trade off in mpg is worth the additional "creature" comforts and safety features I gained with the Cadenza.

I'm averaging 21-22 also. 50/50 with a heavy foot. I think the mpg gauge is more accurate than what my Optima was.
It's strange you have small difference with optima....as the same trip on optima gave me 28 mpg... And 29 mpg when I used Eco mode... Where on Cadenza I'm straggle to get 23
i average about 23-24... thats average... strickly highway when resetting, i'll get 28
Yes, 28 on hwy looks correct....but again on optima SX I easily did 35...and If I cruise 65mph I got 38mpg...which were amazing
