Blind spot detection

Has anyone else had issues with blind spot detection false triggering? My 2014 has had issues with the driver side coming on when there is nothing beside me which has been going on for a long time. More so when it rains.

Dealership has the car and can't reproduce the issue. It's in to have the engine noise "fixed" and to replace the backup camera. I opened a case with KIA preferred customer support who told me that since they can't "reproduce" the issue, it isn't their concern and they're not going to spend any more time on it. She said they've only had 2 other customer report the problem with false triggering so therefor it's not an issue. WTF!

Oh and the dealership tried to tell me that because I serviced the car myself, the noise in engine was caused due to the fact I didn't use a KIA brand filter. Hence the reason I opened a case.

Even though I love my Cadenza, I'll never buy another KIA. Their service/support on both ends sucks.

Have had one or two false warnings on my 2015 Limited, but nothing on a regular basis. The sensors are located somewhere inside the rear bumper area just below each rear taillight, according to the manual.

Is that area kept clean?
Happens on my girlfriends Optima SX-Turbo all the time. I filmed it with my camera phone for proof is she wants to take it in.
I don't think I have seen it happening in my Cadenza.

Sorry to hear you're having troubles! I know KIA is very strict when it comes to oil changes and pretty much requiring the use of a KIA brand filter even if you are doing the change yourself.

I would do what MacDogg did and take some video proof of it happening. I did the same thing with my Optima Sx when the backup camera went on the fritz! It would only happen when I wasnt at the dealership so I caught it on video and BAM, got it replaced

Yes, I put it on my hoist prior to taking it into the dealership and looks pretty clean to me.

They are replacing the camera, but it's on backorder. The parts to address the engine noise were supposed to be in Saturday, but as of today no word from KIA or the dealership.

As far as the blind spot detection, I'll have to catch it on video as MacDogg suggested. Since it happens more frequently when it rains you would think they would take the bumper off and visually inspect connections/slave radar unit for exposure to the elements, but common sense doesn't seem to come into play here.

I'll keep everyone posted and thanks for the comments!

I’ve had a couple false triggerings on my ‘17 Cadenza. It rarely happens but always occurs when I have my blinker on and slowing to go into a turning lane. So I’m pretty mine is picking up on the curb for some reason.
I've had occasional false triggers when it's raining or snowing on my 2014 SXL.
