I can't recommend the base either. I would get tech/lux package on a premium (like I have) or else the price isn't really worth it usually. How much is it? The reason why most of us got the car is because of what is included in those 2 packages (or Limited) comes with SO much bang/buck. I'd reconsider personally and look at the features you'd be missing. I didn't get the SXL because I didn't care for the extra safety features (lane departure, adaptive cruice, etc...) and would just constantly turn them off. I only wish I had the LED fogs and hydrophobic glass. LED fogs are $50 though
OK I guess I need to stand up for Premium model. Note; typically I usually get all the options available and then just drive the best price I can.
This time I drove the Premium and felt it met my needs without the extras. First off vs. Limited or Premium + Tech:
*They both have the same power train; only 19" wheels are different; I felt they drove virtually the same.
*I haven't missed the sunroof. I never used mine much and wife's car has panoramic but still not much use. For some this has been an issue point, so no worries without it.
*I would like intelligent cruise control but don't use cruise that much in the city
*Lane departure is ok but at time annoying. Having a back up camera with sensors in the Premium is good enough for me.
*I like the straight analog gauges better than digital but that's just my preference.
*Nappa leather is nice but Premium has leather (just add some Lexol treatment)
*Electronic parking brake is nice but the old petal brake works fine for me
*I converted my fogs to LEDs, this is a cheap and easy upgrade
*I do miss DRLs; the LED DRL lights are in the Premium combination front head lamp, but the harness does not connect to them.
Bottom line; I just fine with Premium but nothing wrong with all the goodies if that's what you want.
I just resently bouth a 2014 Kia Cadenza an already having issues whit the engine making noises an shaking a lot when I started up in the morning. Took car in to get looked at an they said it was normal for a car to sound like that if I would of seen that before I bouth it I would never of got it don't recommend it do to those engine noises
I just recorded my car at start up; after sitting all night. 8802 miles; full synthetic oil; also with K&N air intake filter. Very slight rattle noise, but only for one or two seconds; no shake. Car shaking at start is not normal; I'd take it in to get checked.
Well quick update got call from kia To see how was my car doing don't know if it was corporit or service dep. but I know it want the kia dealer I took my car too. Told them still doing the same thing so told me to take it back in for a full inspection don't know exactly what they are doing but today it will be the second day they have it. Know I am thinking for them saying nothing is wrong they are sure taking a there time checking it for something they said it was normal operation of the car . By the way my car has 13000 miles
