I have a 2016 Kia K7 (korean version Cadenza) with the AMP-150VGDARK(96370-3R155), I've been told is about the same as the american version (JBL one)... what I need help with is the following:

  • have any of you replaced the factory amp?
  • if you have... could you point out to me which models/brands are able to fill in for the factory one?
  • will I have to modify the connections for non OEM amp to work?
  • if I need to modify connections... how do I go about it?
Thanks in advance for any info you can provide me. Cheers.

There aren't many aftermarket options for a 12-channel amplifier, if any at all...

Why do you want to replace the amplifier? Is it not working? If so, you'd need a LOC (Line output converter) and tap into the signal wires from the radio. From the LOC you can send the signal to the aftermarket amplifier, then from the amplifier tap into the existing speaker wires at the OEM amp.

As far as which wires to tap into... I'm not too sure... I had a stereo shop install 4 door speakers/tweeters, a sub and two amplifiers. The factory setup is nice, but you don't really need 12 speakers. 4 loud and clear speakers will sound better than any amount of stock speakers...
