Recently attempted to play some music rips via NAV USB (.wma format). Able to hear the music and read the file names as expected --- but no album art ???

I know the art is imbedded in the music files because this shows up on my desktop (using WMP). I assumed NAV was able to read this because it can display jpgs under "Image" mode. Also the NAV USB screen appears to have a place for the cover image.

Anyone able to see album art when playing music with NAV?

Maybe it's a WMA format issue with the head unit? I only use MP3s, and the album art embedded in those show fine for me.

Glad to hear that album art shows up with mp3 rips. I'll give it a try using this format.

Could be that .wma is indeed the problem, or that this feature was "broken" in the latest NAV (07.43.43.xx) update (which I am using).

Mystery Solved

Here is the scoop on album art:
Although Kia Player can play music in either .mp3 or .wma format its advertised compatibility is really for .mp3 format. For this format it will search tags and display album art. For .wma it will not display album art even though the art is included in tag. (Perhaps Kia reads a side-file associated only with .mp3)


I verified this by playing identical files in both formats - each with album art included.
