Anyone else having an issue where your blower will speed up or slow down while driving/stopping? I have noticed it do this several times and I don't really have my phone on over bluetooth so it's not like i'm getting calls or something for them to tone down. It seems fairly random, at time's it's just going 40 on the road or 60+ on the highway. Others it's when I slow down or stop and others it's when i'm speeding up. Has anyone noticed this? It's not like it shuts off or goes full blast but it definitely changes speed 1 way or the other, usually slower. It's annoying as ****.

The climate control system when left on auto adjust the fan speed appropriately to achieve the target temperature +/- 3 degrees. When you are accelerating and decelerating the ambient temperature around the vehicle is changing. Thus your fan speed changes.

Same philosophy on the auto volume feature, yet that seems to warrant a call to KIA.

Can't remember mine doing this even if it may do it. Of course I only drive mine 1-2 times a week.

On a similar note: One thing that that I can't figure out is when the HVAC mode actually changes for no reason. From dual to auto to defrost without me touching it. No I do not run the Auto button. And when I try to manually switch it back ot reverts back to auto\defrost.

I've noticed that the cooling system will revert to recirculating off and on and usually when stopped at a light, and not using the auto selection. It does make more noise when it goes to recirculate but I 'm not sure if the fan speeds up.

Now that the weather in my area is warming up nicely, I've been venting the sunroof and have noticed that my blower speed moves around more frequently. It seems to run normally when the roof is closed. Maybe this has something to do with what others are experiencing?

The HVAC switching to defrost could be the auto dehumidifier turning on. There is an interior sensor behind the rear view mirror which senses interior humidity and will take over control of the HVAC to prevent windows from fogging.

Ahhh very nice; I didn't know about this. This is a very good possibility due to running just the vent during the spring when it was cool enough to do so.
Thanks

So now that it has been summer for a long time (Summer is almost over) I have used my AC quite a bit and have noticed this more, anyone else with this issue yet?

Mine doesn't change in a way that I'd call randomly. It does change automatically when I have it set to "auto" but the changes it makes seem normal to me (and this is my second car with that an auto A/C feature).

What surprised me is that on long trips (> 4 hrs) if the A/C has been going the whole time I will get drops of condensation around my feet. At first I thought a drain line must be backed up but I checked the manual and it clearly states that it's expected behavior.

Guess I'll just have to report it to my service dept when I take it in for my 1st oil change @ 7500mi.

After I drive for 4 hours , When it is really hot, mine shuts down on auto.
I have to go to manual. Dealer says they can't find anything wrong

I don't have mine on auto. I put it to low and turn the blower on 3 (these are my usual settings I hardly ever change). It happens when I have the AC on and off as well as the blower on direct vent or recirc. It just blows harder then softer usually returning to my setting but keeps doing it on and off about a second apart and is fairly sporadic. Other than that occasionally it functions perfectly fine. I've not ran it for 2+ hours though that I can recall. I know it's something small but it annoys me.
