Based on the
Hyundai Azera, the
Kia Cadenza just made its way into the public eye here at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, marking Kia’s entrance into the premium-sedan segment.
The most powerful V6 in Kia’s stable lives under the hood; a 3.3-liter that pumps out 293 hp and 255 lb-ft of torque. Power is transferred exclusively to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. To make the Cadenza a more engaging drive, it is fitted with a sport-tuned fully independent suspension and a “Sportmatic” manual shift mode complete with paddle shifters.
The real Cadenza story comes from the interior, a point of pride for Kia, as the brand claims it will “introduce a number of advanced systems that promise to set a new standard in the premium segment.”
